Media Manufacturing Development Engineer
MEDIA DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER: Responsible for the product and manufacturing process development of the holographic data storage media relating to the substrates, AR coat, edge and center moisture barrier seals. Provided liaison between Japanese media manufacturing development partner and InPhase, developed overall media product specifications, and interfaced with research and drive engineering.• Project manager for the development of the automated bonder assembly line with Zygo Automation. Project was funded and sponsored by ATP and NIST grants. The $1M project was completed on time and within budget.• Researched, developed, and implemented into manufacturing high performance injection molded optical plastic substrates, AR coatings, and environmental barrier seals. • Led critical team effort to specify, characterize, prioritize, and document media product, manufacturing, and performance specifications.• Developed analytical protocols for material characterization and media performance (FT-NIR, Pitch Error, Under Fill, and Seal Integrity) by working with research chemists and optical engineers.• Established close vendor relations ship for joint development of materials and manufacturing capability for substrates, seal materials, device components, and packaging concepts.
