In my current function I have personnel and budget responsibility, bring experience in basic and applied research, have successfully transferred the nanosafety activities of the laboratory into nanomedicine, I am active in committee work (Swiss National COVID-19 Science Task Force, Member of the Advisory Group for the Swiss Action Plan for Synthetic Nanomaterials, Advisory Committees), have successfully acquired third-party funding from SNSF, the EU, foundations and InnoSuisse, I am a bridge builder to the (pharmaceutical) industry, health care and authorities, I am enthusiastic about teaching and supervising MSc, PhD, Scientists in personal and academic questions, I promote the dialogue with society (public relations e.g. Nanopubli, communication with commission members of the National Council and Council of States on nanomedicine), I regularly host and chair international conferences (e.g. Nano-MedEurope 2021).I'm an internationally recognized expert in nanosafety and nanomedicine (evaluator for Australian MRC, French National Research Agency, Member of the Expertteam for Swissmedic, Asssociated editor Nanoimpact, Guest editor and reviewer of international journals).
