Peter Wild is heading the Software Development division at Amt der Salzburger Landesregierung, leading a team of software developers, product managers, project leaders and application experts engineering software solutions for governmental applications.He holds Bachelor, Master and PhD degrees in Applied Computer Science from the University of Salzburg.He graduated with highest honours - sub auspiciis praesidentis - in 2013. His PhD thesis on iris biometrics received the European Biometrics Industry Award 2013 by the EAB. He was awarded the Appreciation Award 2013 by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Science and Research, and he has a track record of over 40 publications in computer vision topics.Peter Wild has over 20 years of experience in software development, including medical software engineering at Tecan (2017 - 2022), image processing and security software at AIT (2015 - 2017), biometric software research at University of Reading (2013-2015) and University of Salzburg (2007 - 2013), and web development at Wildnet (1999 - 2013). As an external lecturer he was enrolled in teaching activities at the University of Salzburg (2008 - 2013), Fachhochschule Salzburg - Salzburg University of Applied Sciences (2009 - 2013), and Pädagogische Hochschule Salzburg - Salzburg University of Education (2001 - 2013). His teaching activities included lectures on databases, web technologies, programming, software engineering, compiler construction, and distributed systems. He co-founded Wildnet (1998), a small team of experts offering services related to eLearning content creation, internet and database consulting and IT training.
