Pete has over 30 years of experience in health care management, marketing, public relations, media relations, business development and community outreach. Prior to joining HCA Healthcare, he was the Vice President of Marketing & Business Development for Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. In this position he was responsible for the management of the Communications and Marketing department in collaboration with the other HCA Healthcare hospitals. Earlier in his career, Pete led the 16-member public relations and marketing department for the University Community Health System in Tampa, managing the overall operation of seven different cost centers across the five hospitals within the system. Pete has a master’s degree in Health Administration, has held various leadership roles in national and state professional organizations, and was recognized by the Florida Society for Healthcare Public Relations & Marketing (FSHPRM) with its Jack Bondurant Award of Merit for Career Achievement. Pete’s work has earned a Colorado Healthcare Communicators Gold Leaf Award and numerous Florida Society for Healthcare Public Relations & Marketing (FSHPRM) Mark of Excellence awards in the categories of internal communications, community outreach, publications, and advertising. He enjoys reading, running, and playing the guitar.Specialties: Pete's experience includes the creation of a new corporate identity system and brand strategy; development and execution of multi-phase marketing strategies and campaigns for programs ranging from service lines to new hospital facility launches; and management of corporate marketing partnerships with organizations such as the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lighting, and Busch Gardens of Tampa Bay.
