I review the clarity, style, accuracy, applicability, and readability of all external communications for Capgemini North America.

I create a variety of marketing communications content for the clients of Calador Communications and copy edit content produced by subject-matter experts. Our projects include whitepapers, case studies, by-lined articles, blog posts, Web content, email marketing campaigns, and newsletters. My main client is Capgemini North America.

Gear Media is a content production company that has worked on many successful projects for a number of corporate clients. We have produced newsletters, speeches, specialty magazines and marketing collateral; written speeches and research papers; and managed internal training programs and events.Although I am the sole full-time employee, Gear Media regularly draws on a pool of professionals in other fields, including PR and marketing, photography and illustration, writing and editing, print and layout, etc.

I was responsible for many of the industry-analysis projects at Branham Group. I conducted extensive primary and secondary research, crafted reports and presented the findings to our clients. Projects included business-development projects with the province of Nova Scotia; international partnership outreach projects with representatives from European and Mexican companies; significant research studies for federal government departments including Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (formerly Industry Canada) on cybersecurity, financial technology and blockchain, and for Global Affairs Canada on digital health; research work with industry groups; and business assessment and development studies for a number of private companies.I also oversaw The Branham300, the definitive listing of Canada's top publicly traded and privately held Information and Communication Technology (ICT) companies, ranked by revenue. Branham Group collects information on hundreds of Canadian companies over the course of a year to produce the annual report. As Director, I was responsible for the quality, breadth and depth of the analysis we presented on Canada's ICT sector.

2nd Dan black belt. As a taekwondo instructor, I taught everything from Tiny Tigers to senior belts, and specialized in weapons.

I produced a variety of marketing communications pieces for the clients of Calador Communications, including newsletters, case studies, bylined articles, marketing materials, Web site copy, presentations and social media posts.

Backbone was a national business technology magazine. I was responsible for the day-to-day editing and management duties, its content and tone, much of its marketing and public presence, and the magazine's relevance to its readership. I am very proud of what we accomplished at Backbone. It was an interesting and well-crafted magazine, covering a critical industry, produced by an independent Canadian publisher.Backbone ceased publication in November 2013, and Canada lost another unique, home-grown magazine voice.

I taught introduction to e-commerce, and had a great time doing it. The students were interesting and engaging, and I learned a lot while teaching them the course material.

Editor of a national technology magazine. At the time, ComputerWorld was Canada's largest-circulation tech magazine. I became editor at a young age, and this was the steepest learning curve of my professional life. I worked with great people, had a lot of fun, made some mistakes and learned from them, and accomplished a lot.
