During my time as an employee at the DRC I mainly handled tasks related to family reunification cases. It was here my responsibility to plan and coordinate practicalities for families who are going to Denmark after having obtained a Danish residence permit. The service was shut down as a result of the governments tightening of the immigration policy. As a trainee in the Embassy's Growth and Development Team I worked with a broad variety of tasks within the team's portfolio. The team develops and monitors Danida's programmes within growth and employment in Uganda, and is involved in the agricultural sector, private sector- and business development, infrastructure and water- and environmental issues. I was however mainly focused on the team's work related to agriculture and development in Northern Uganda. As a Rights Ambassador at ActionAid Denmark I have mainly been involved in illuminating the problems related to the current use of biofuels in the European transport sector, i.e. issues of landgrabbing, environmental degradation and potential derived poverty increases. The aim is to advocate for a better and more just use of resources by creating awareness and putting pressure on policy makers.
