Hong Kong, Guangzhou

Co-founded and served as non-executive advisor (CTO) for the health-care solution and service provider. Advised on and facilitated market and business review, solution architecture, GTM strategy, service and pricing programs for HK, Macau and China. The solution entails sourcing, converting, digitizing and storing X-ray images from various radiology systems and dispersed operations in the hospitals based on industry standard (DICOM-3) to create a hospital-wide centralized PACS database for use in case diagnosis and to enhance workflow efficiency and productivity of the healthcare practitioners. After the digital-PACS software solution was launched, the company further implemented and integrated a HIS (hospital information system) and LIS (laboratory information system) solution, along with EMR (electronic medical records) development to provide a complete patient care platform for the hospitals. The company was honored the Diamond Award in 2005 by Hong Kong Software Association, recognizing innovation and contribution to the healthcare industry.

China, Hong Kong & Macau

For a period of 14 years, managed JOS's professional solution & service division in China, HK and Macau and spearheaded a corporate-wide service transformation program to re-engineer the dispersed service organization with a market and customer driven strategy. The re-engineering effort re-positioned the JOS brand as a key APAC “solutions & services provider” focusing on and delivering customer value to clients, business partners and staff, while leading to improved operational & financial performance.During the boom years (2004-2009) in the Macau market, created an integrated specialist team with business and ICT professionals from HK, China and Macau to develop and penetrate the hospitality/entertainment market. The Macau business quadrupled sales in a short 5 years’ period. The success was well recognized in the local market and within the company, and the business unit won the annual Performance Excellence Awards consecutively for 3 years between 2007 and 2009.Leveraging on Macau successes, introduced and led the hospitality and consumer industry development in the China market. With the evolving trend of multi-channel consumer engagement, an omni-channel retail (OCR) strategy and a consumer-focused solution suite supported by process consultation was developed and launched which enabled retail clients to adopt and offer multi-channel products and customer services in the competitive market. Numerous global and local retail brands and shopping mall clients, totaling about 3,000 points of presence, adopted and integrated a spectrum of digital-enabled and multi-channel retail solutions.Overall, the division improved on all KPIs and grew the client base - doubled sales revenue within 5 years, increased gross contribution by 10%-points, increased customer and staff satisfaction and loyalty. Of most significance included strengthening key accounts’ retention and wallet-shares in the automotive, retail, hospitality, manufacturing, FSI, and travel sectors.

As Director, Industry Solutions at TELUS Enterprise Solutions (subsidiary of Verizon), led the industry practice to provide business consulting, application solutions and professional services to national and international clients in the energy/utility, FSI, forestry, public services, manufacturing, transportation, telecommunications and ICT sectors. During the tenure, developed alliance and partnership programs with “best-in-class” industry vertical software and solution providers; provided thought leadership in business planning, strategic investment, business development and marketing, and alliance programs to build market recognition; created a professional service and delivery strategy and directed industry sector business units to drive business growth; directed professional service delivery in the area of consulting, change management and BPR, program management, systems integration and e-Business application solutions for global industry clients. Developed, launched and completed a joint-venture ICT customer service business with an APAC service provider.

While at Westcoast Energy as Group Executive, led the business transformation program to plan and develop the de-regulated utility strategy in early 1990s which resulted in consolidating six regulated gas utilities’ IT operations, externalized and outsourced ICT (involving close to 1,800 staff) to a 3rd party service provider; then created three separate companies under the de-regulated market practice to provide on-demand services to the utility industry.After the board approval on the business transformation program in 1992, appointed the role of VP, Product & Business Development for Enlogix CIS (one of the three newly formed companies) to architect, develop and implement a subscriber and transaction based customer care and billing solution using ASP/SaaS delivery model for both the regulated and de-regulated utility industry, and to mitigate the Y2K issue. Took on the business development role to create marketing and pricing strategy and channel partner programs to expanded market presence in the North America market. Signed USD 65m worth of service contracts in the first year of product launch and won an award from McGraw-Hill (USA) for innovation in the de-regulated utility industry in 1996.
