Pete relishes his Leadership challenge implementing a cross-channel retail offer in the Charity Sector with Devon Air Ambulance.Highlights over his past employment include National Award for Charity Retail Shop layout, Secondment with HRH Charity Business in the Community encouraging support from National Businesses for Community-led regeneration and localised partnership working in 100 high streets over a three years. With his employment with The Co-op he built a 120 strong team of community organisers during Covid19 Lockdown, winning the Good for Community Award recognising his efforts in developing a support programme to rural community owned shops - including donation of surplus shop fittings & fixtures, providing secretarial support post-Plymouth & South West Co-operative Society merger and management of an outdoor event presence showcasing The Co-operative’s local efforts in communities across the South West Region.Pete’s involvement with Community Engagement & Regeneration stemmed from becoming Youth Representative on a Market & Coastal Town Partnership in rural Devon during the 2001 Foot & Mouth Crisis.His experiences benchmarking towns in the South Hams on behalf of the Countryside Agency, facilitating delivery of European funded projects within West Somerset & Exmoor’s Coastal communities, and his recent project delivery at The Co-operative Group have combined to provide a solid grounding for partnership working at a local level.
