Dataswyft is a distributed data network and technology group. Its mission is to unlock the value of data. For everyone. It does that by providing the technology to enable everyone (individuals, SMEs and enterprises) to own a “HAT Microserver” and have data accounts within, linked to any app, to legally own, store, process and use data (called “self-sovereign data”) and share it with any other app or website, globally.I worked as Project Manager for an incubation project working with INTR, Indigenous Native Tribal Reserve, in support of its work to build an economic system to affirm their tribal sovereignty in the digital age as an active step to decolonize, decarbonize and embrace positive change and reconciliation. I led the coordination between Dataswyft and INTR to the point that INTR felt comfortable releasing an RFP for its solution in support of piloting an initiative supporting the unhoused and unbanked indigenous population in Oklahoma. The RFP process is now going ahead along with fundraising to support it, with an expectation that Dataswyft technology will play a part going forward.I remain engaged for a wider initiative being referred to as Digital Diaspora.

I supervise Master's students as they perform research and write their dissertations. Research may be qualitative or quantitative, while dissertations are around 20,000 words long. I use my PhD experience to guide my students in delivering high quality work. I focus on business-related Master's degrees, including Serice Management and Design, International Trade, Strategy and Operations, Programme and Project Management, and Supply Chain and Logisitics Management.My students generally secure at least the same grade as they achieve in their modules, and several have exceeded this. In 2006, I formed an international IBM volunteer team to address poverty in Kenya using new applications. In 2008, I worked in Ghana as part of IBM's Corporate Service Corps where I developed a new model for the oil seed supply chain that could increase Ghana's GDP by over $100m while employing 90,000 more people.In 2009-10, I provided guidance during development of the solution and then led the SMS for Life pilot project in Tanzania. It provided a simple SMS-based means for health facilities to report weekly on their stock levels of anti-malaria drugs. The project confirmed that better visibility of stock levels can improve supply chain function. The success of the pilot has led to a countrywide rollout. I have been in demand to lecture on the project, the latest of which is at the 2012 Global Healthcare Supply Chain Summit. I am co-author of a resulting academic paper in the Malaria Journal. The project was awarded a 2011 Computerworld Laureate award and is one of IBM's “100 Icons of Progress”.In early 2010, I was asked by ITRI, the tin industry body, to create a technical solution for the iTSCi project to address the conflict mineral trade in DR Congo. I led the creation of an application to track tin ore from mine to exporter and arranged for no-cost pilot hosting. It was launched in late 2010, resulting in contracts to refine the application and for hosting.In mid-2010, I was asked by the World Bank to participate in the eZICS project in Zambia. Having negotiated the terms of IBM's engagement, I gained commitment from IBM executives and secured investment funding. I led a global team to create an innovative solution incorporating predictive ordering analytics with a mobile phone-based user interface which could revolutionise the drug supply chain in the developing world.
