The Road to Damascus played out in a fully immersive theatre style_ is a marriage drama, a mystery drama, and a drama of penance and conversion. On his way to Damascus, Saul had an awe-inspiring vision, which converted Saul, the hater of Christ, into Paul, the apostle of the Gentiles. Strindberg's drama describes the progress of the author right up to his conversion, shows how stage by stage he relinquishes worldly things, scientific renown, and above all woman, and finally, when nothing more binds him to this world, takes the vows of a monk and enters a monastery where no dogmas or theology, but only broadminded humanity and resignation hold sway. This powerful journey is played out with the journey of the Lady and the Stranger and the characters they meet on the Road-

THE GUT GIRLSThis hard-hitting play by Sarah Daniels is set in Victorian South East London: the docks are alive and buzzing with traders, ships and livestock ready to be sent to the slaughter shedsEnter -The Gut Girls -They are a rowdy bunch – with language that would stagger a horse and muscles that could floor a man. They spend their 13 hour day’s knee deep in blood and entrails in the freezing, contaminated gutting shed, lifting carcasses twice their size. But they earn in a week what a girl in service earns in a year. In the pubs and music halls of Deptford they are notorious for loud laughter, outrageous hats and wearing no knickers. No man would touch them with a barge pole.

Community Theatre TourThe toilet- A room of one’s own?Welcome to the London Ladies Lavatory. In use for over a century, its walls have seen it all: the Suffragettes, the Great War, the Roaring Twenties, Swinging Sixties and Naughty Noughties. This is a space where women (and the odd man!) have come to share their stories, their secrets, hopes, desires and fears. ‘Public Inconveniences’ lifts the lids on the private lives of men and women from the 20th and 21st centuries, taking inspiration from the idea that ‘the personal is political’.

Lady Windermere's Fan- Directed by Petina Hapgood “London is full of women who trust their husbands. One can always recognize them. They look so thoroughly unhappy. I am not going to be one of them “(Lady Windermere)Oscar Wilde's witty dialogue, social satire and outrageous paradoxes for which he is still remembered are most evident in Lady Windermere’s Fan. Wilde's play shows us the destructiveness of gossip and superficial judgement. It examines the ambiguous sexual morality and gender politics at the heart of the British ruling class, while simultaneously challenging our perception of what constitutes a good womanSet In a world of Art Deco - Director (Petina Hapgood) gives the play a fresh, contemporary feel. A vibrant, versatile cast bring this stylish, poignant comedy alive.“We are all of us in the gutter but some of us are looking at the stars”. (Lord Darlington)

Director of a new 90 minute contemporary HAMLET the Dark Lady of DenmarkA fresh, shortened contemporary version; set in the world of corporate and political Denmark – A barren place of ambition, revenge, treachery and moral corruption, - This revised version looks at Hamlet from a female perspective. Hamlet is the protagonist daughter of a business mogul and has been brought up in the world of finance and politics. Devoted to her father, she is devastated by his death and thus seeks full justice and retribution. The relationship with her mother, already a difficult one, is blown wide apart when Gertrude marries her Uncle Claudius within a month. Ophelia admires and worships Hamlet and desperately tries to be noticed by her. The drama involves at break neck speed in this 90 minute version. The depths of despair, treachery and madness to which the human soul can plummet, will be played out to the bitter end by a diverse cast with some unique role playing twists.

Fighting break out between the other characters on how we should respond to the demands of war. This, hard-hitting and moving play challenges us to question what we would do, were we faced with the reality of conflict. Loosely based on the First World War, Capture the Flag shows us how relevant that experience is to us today. Director Petina Hapgood returns to the Etcetera theatre with a stellar cast to tell this compelling but entertaining story, which has humanity at the very core. One definitely not to be missed!Etcetera Theatre, CamdenTuesday, March 4th to Saturday March 8th, 7.30pmSunday, March 9th, 6.30pmTickets £11
