I am a socio-cultural anthropologist working for Finnish Roma Association. I am currently working on a survey and report on the service needs of elderly Roma.In the Association I have also worked as a project manager in the youth project, conducted and reported an online survey of Roma youth, as well as worked as an all-round office and administrative support. By training I am a researcher, specialising Pacific Islands/Oceania ethnography, Kiribati in particular (I also speak the Kiribati language). I have had a postdoctoral research project on Kiribati migration, which is currently on hold but to which I hope to return at some later point. Since finishing my PhD (2010), I have also worked in academic administration. As an example of administrative work, in 2016 I carried out a project assessing the international activities of the Council of Finnish Academies.Mainly from the time before the PhD, I have work experience in teaching, and in editorial work in a scientific journal (Suomen Antropologi: Journal of the Finnish Anthropological Society). These tasks I carried alongside writing my dissertation part time.
