About Petra Benes
I am addicted to working and connecting with people all over the world, and to speaking foreign languages. I love helping (young) social and impact companies expand their exports and enter new markets (or prepare them for their first exports). Although all went well I did find something was missing. It took me a while before I realized what it was. I looked back at the ideas I had about the world when I was younger, about justice, about equality and about doing something meaningful. Somehow, somewhere along the way those ideas and me wanting to live according to those ideas became dormant. I was so busy trying to fit in the tough business world. I have now accepted that I never will. My work is not about making tons of money. At least not for me it is not and it never has been. This cost me quite a bit in the past because I was not always going relentlessly after opportunities. My heart was not involved. I changed the course of my company. Top in Export is an international business and exports consultancy firm that turns world improvers into world conquerors. This means that we only work with companies that make the world a better place, companies that are committed to (at least one of) the SDGs as established by the United Nations. Once your focus is clear, people with the same focus appear. I've met and connected with some amazing people throughout the years and became co-owner of Generous Minds, a collective with impact focused business experts that help impact enterprises grow. It is wonderful to be surrounded by so many colleagues with the same drive but with different expertise, there is something to learn every day. And working with impact driven entrepreneurs is like food for the soul. So much to do, so little time (it sometimes feels like that), but teamwork makes the dream work !
