One of the main contract objectives was to improve team’s results without performing new hires. Despite of the initial objections to deep modifications and sudden exposure to multiple new technologies, tools and technics, due in no small part to the excellent human capital of the receptors, this was achieved.

Setup of Confluence and Jira deployment which initially served a development team of 10. We would eventually expand the system to the whole company, exceeding 80 users. The installation eventually grew to be used as a document management system, internal and external ticket system and ERP greatly improving coordination among all employees and departments.Overviewed and collaborated on code development in C++, Java, PHP, SQL, PL/SQL, Python and Bash accelerating the development and improving the code quality.Designed a high performance multi-database message proxy so that the migration from MySQL to PostgreSQL was possible without downtime.Designed a transactional queue system that would allow for logical replication of the new PostgreSQL server to secondary servers with intermittent and poor connection.Designed a software serial port sniffer so that the communication with the off-the-shelf, black box, custom designed hardware became available for debugging.Designed and partially implemented a brand new software architecture that would tackle the operational problems of the initial one.Designed and implemented automated testing and software deployment procedures for all the layers of the software system resilient to poor connectivity.Designed and participated in the developed multiple complex reporting facilities.Setup business continuity and backup procedures.

Evolved and corrected the initial database schema to an improved version that corrected operational issues.Migrated the initial Mysql database to PostgreSQL with practically zero downtime.Developed a new database model. 2003 - 2005 The HTML version of the web templates developed for the baixpenedes.com portal was ported to FLASH and ActionScript. On later 2003 the contents were moved to a database engine (MySQL) a middle-ware web-service system based on Apche Axis was introduced and some internal procedures for fast web development were created and applied. The outstanding projects based on this technologies where two Real Estate web pages, www.inmobilinemaribarbola.com and www.ugartenavasierra.com as well as a project prototype for Catenon (www.catenon.com) where an XML Database was used as a backend for a Flash - Actionscipt frontend. The novel aspect of this latest implementation was that it allowed Catenon, a HR firm, to dynamically include new properties associated with the candidate profile and enabled them to use those new properties in indexed searches, all without IT intervention.2002 The planning and complete development of the baixpendes.com portal ( http://web.archive.org/web/20030325072759/http://www.baixpenedes.com/ ) as well as the development of a web template systems allowing for the fast and low cost web development for the companies in the Baixpendes area. It's interesting to mention that the web templates were massively based on the use of a javascript library xlib by http://cross-browser.com which could be very well considered one of the Ajax embryos.This project did also have a data acquisition part written in C++. I designed and taught a Personalized Intensive Spanish Language Course to a group of 40 Moldavian engineers who worked for Unión Fenosa Internacional, raising their communication abilities substantially.I designed and implemented a database that managed and automated the generation of reports for the knowledge-management coordinator of the group. It resulted in a great time saving and a better analysis of the academic results of the group.I designed and implemented a database for the knowledge-management of the Spanish course. This tool provided the teacher with a fair assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of individuals as well as those of the whole group.I translated materials from Spanish to Romanian and I created a technical terms dictionary that was used during the course.

I developed in Delphi and Borland C++ a client/server communication application over GSM for the DT9000 handheld device manufactured by Casio. The server part, installed on PC, was providing handheld client devices with updates of other applications written by Intersoft while the client was sending the last data recorded by the device. I have finished the project in 2 weeks instead of the 6 weeks initially assigned.I wrote the communication modules for wireless cards based on the MIFARE technology manufactured by Philips.

It's worst to mention that we implemented several playing strategies including rule based decision making, depth search as well as automated learning capabilities. One of the programs was developed in Pascal the other one in GW-Basic.1991 Conversational program writen in GW-Basic called Diana. This was developed in collaboration with Felix Paez Pavón. This project was a foundation for further research on natural language processing and automated learning.
