I joined Timegate quite early on its startup journey as a 3rd R&D team member. Timegate’s main product, time-gated raman spectrometer, was originally prototyped at VTT research organization and the University of Oulu. At the time, Timegate was a few years old spinoff company and lacked electronics expertise. So, I was hired to improve and productize the highly specialized electronics.All aspects of electronics design and manufacturing have been my main tasks, among all the other required needs in a small startup company (some involvement in almost everything). Also, IT-management has been my responsibility almost from the beginning. Recently, I have been able to concentrate more on the R&D side as Timegate’s team has grown to more mature state. Rikola Ltd's business was bought by Senop Oy and my job description stayed the same.Mainly development of hyperspectral camera on following fields of expertise: system design engineering, embedded C-programming, VHDL-programming, electronics circuit and layout design.

Because of the needs of a small company I also took part in organization of work tasks, user interface design, customer support, manufacturing, testing and IT system administration.

Electronics design in analog and digital domain, optoelectronics design and system design engineering in close collaboration with mechanics, optics and software designers in multiple different projects of which many were multinational. Also procurement of parts, assembly, testing and fixing of designed devices. In a couple of projects I worked as a project manager.
