I received my B.A. in English from the University of California, Santa Barbara. As an English student, I have a passion for reading and analyzing literature. In my 4 years at UC Santa Barbara, I worked researching and analyzing various novels, genres, and literary movements. This led to me being on the Dean's Honors list 8 separate times and graduating with a 3.75 GPA a quarter earlier than my peers. During my 4 years at UC Santa Barbara, I worked in Community Organizing. From 2019-2021, I was a tactical coordinator for the New Voters Project for CALPIRG (California Public Interest Research Group). From 2021-2023, I ran Gauchos Vote, UC Santa Barbara's school-run voter registration and get-out-the-vote organization. I have spent 4 years organizing and running events, collaborating with local organizations and politicians along with University staff to register more students to vote and educating them on their voting rights.The work of Gauchos Vote and our many collaborators led UC Santa Barbara to win an award in the 2022 California Ballot Bowl, awarded by Secretary of State Dr. Shirley Weber.Our work was also the basis of a story by KCBX, the Santa Barbara subsidiary of NPR, where I was interviewed about voter registration efforts on college campuses.
