Hired as a team member to provide daily husbandry, assisting graduate research and data recording for research poultry flocks at the NCSU Prestige Farms Poultry Science Unit. • Observation and data recording of food consumption for egg-producing bird groups • Incubator monitoring, hatching, and the establishment of new research houses for continued bird groups• Post-mortem weight analysis and data logging with food-grade birds• egg collection, feeding, and general daily care of all poultry houses on the Prestige property

Oversaw the daily husbandry, health care, and management of over 250+ animals utilized for educational programming on site and thru educational outreach across the state of North Carolina• Training of more than 100 interns and volunteer staff each year for the institution’s animal handling protocols • Management and reporting for an annual resource budget averaging $18,000 per year• Oversaw the annual USDA & Wildlife permit reporting for all mammal and/or endangered species within the collection• Development of the first digital program use tracking statistics for the species utilized within the collection providing collection management protocols and limiting usage on stress-sensitive species• Enclosure modification, fabrication, systems maintenance, HVAC work, plumbing and basic construction within animal holding areas.• Supervision of full time/part-time staff regarding weekly and monthly tasks with husbandry and animal enrichment as well as interns and volunteers.• Regular work with native and exotic venomous lizard and snake species. • The assistance of Veterinary Services staff regarding health management (medications, regular checkups, etc) and data collection on a variety of species.• Assisted NCMNS veterinarian (2008-2009) in the management of medical supply ordering, inventory, case management, and assistance with on-site medical procedures.
