I provided a positive and safe donor experience as a medical historian, being the first person donors engaged with at the center. As a student tutor, I assisted fellow students in courses I had previously received an A in, including general biology, ecology, organismal biology, and genetics. Interpersonal skills were very important for bonding with a student and figuring out which teaching style worked best for them. It was also a great exercise in explaining scientific concepts in layman's terms, and to explain theories in ways different than what's taught in the classroom.

My priority as a new student orientation leader was to provide a welcoming and informational first week for students who had just moved to the UW-La Crosse campus. I was in charge of leading a group of approximately 12 new students around campus so they could get their bearings and feel prepared for the start of the semester, which required lots of group management skills, icebreaker activities, and time management.
