My time at Texans for Greg Abbott working as the Public/Digital Engagement Coordinator helped expand my skill set in a variety of fields. My main duties included monitoring the campaign’s digital correspondence, including emails, Facebook messages and comments, LinkedIn interactions, and the Texans for Greg Abbott app. I responded to concerned citizens’ inquiries and provided answers to their questions. This was crucial in serving as a public liaison and developing strong relationships between citizens and the campaign. I also worked hand-in-hand with the Communications Department to craft compelling messaging for use on the campaign’s digital platforms.

While working as the Assistant Committee Clerk for the Senate Administration Committee I was involved with many aspects of the legislative process. More than half of all bills passed during a given legislative session come through the Senate Local & Uncontested Calendar and I was there to assist in the certification process. I was responsible for the day-to day administration of the committee office making sure everything was ready for meetings and other official business taking place in the committee room. I worked closely with the Committee Clerk to facilitate committee hearings in accordance with the Senate Rules of Procedure and relevant public information laws.

From sun-up to sun-down I helped keep the hunting lodge in order and looking in top shape. In the mornings and afternoons I was in charge of taking hunters back and forth from the hunting lodge to the field. I helped manage the hunting lodge's website and Facebook page as well as helped cook meals for the hunters.

Define Your Line was an amazing non-profit organization that I had the privilege of lending my talents to. I was lucky enough to be personally selected to join the organization and was eventually named as the head of recruiting for new students, as well as handling media relations. This included talking to local news stations, generating campus awareness with on-campus speeches and collecting data with in-person interviews.

I love music! So working for The Raider was a dream come true. I had my own radio show on Mondays from 6-7. I helped the Music Director go through new music sent into the station, uploaded songs into our system and helped with any other odd job the station needed.

Maintained weather stations placed throughout the Panhandle of Texas.Used Microsoft Excel to enter data readings from the stations.Had to balance going to school and work.
