All throughout my life, biology and its many intricacies laid a profound and significant impact upon my life. As I entered high school, I did not definitively know the career I'd choose. However, I did have the basic understanding my two top topics in school were science and math, both gaining a significant amount of interest as well throughout my youth. Walking into my first biology class, the teacher laid out the course plan, conducted an ice breaker, and went over the syllabus. However, his next move caught me off guard: he projected a diagram of the basic anatomy. Seeing how the different muscles, tendons, and ligaments connected to each other, bones, and joints served as a breakthrough in my life: me entire mind was captivated.Knowing the human body was a major subject of interest, I was still unsure about what discipline or major was for me. Finishing a J.V. football game, I ended up tearing my ACL, providing an excruciating obstacle by which I needed to overcome. In my research, the complexity and functionality of the human knee shocked myself; adding a game changing prerogative I just had to act upon. I now knew my calling: to become an Orthopedic Surgeon. I began my shadowing and research my junior year, obtaining both first person and overarching knowledge, confirming my choice of profession. I aspire to not only gain the certification of a Medical Doctor, but also to specialize in the role of being an Orthopedic Surgeon. Even with low experience and a chisel just scratching the surface, I recognize just how passionate and personal my life has been. Using a hard work ethic, and a sense of perseverance, I will work to the best of my abilities to not only accomplish my goals, but also to exceed all expectations put forth.
