I spent my summer in Burnet, TX at Inks Dam National Fish Hatchery as a US fish and wildlife service Intern. My project involved investigating the use of UV sterilization for freshwater mussel aquaculture. I designed my own experiment and created an aquaculture system to test the survival impacts of using UV sterilized water in a system for juvenile.

I have undergone independent research assessing the toxicity of a largely unstudied, anthropogenic toxicant in the environment, tris(4-chlorophenyl)methanol (TCPMOH). We dosed zebrafish embryos with environmentally-relevant concentrations of TCPMOH and microscopically identified resulting structural birth defects. My findings will be submitted for.
