In this position, I assist with various communications efforts for the organization. I work with the Training Committee and Youth Education Program to keep Wisconsin's conservation leaders and public up to date with different educational opportunities. I also assist in social media planning and website management.

As a Fair Opportunity mentor, I have helped multiple students across the country navigate the college application process. Through frequent meetings, I work with the students to create resumes, write essays, fill applications, and apply for financial aid. Helping disadvantaged students follow their dreams has been a rewarding experience.I am also on Fair Opp's essay revision team. This entails editing college admissions essays for students across the country.

As a Community Literacy Intern, I oversee one of the Community Literacy classes. These classes have about eight student-tutor pairs that meet for two hours every week. I create lesson plans for each pair that include two main objectives: learning English literacy skills and achieving individualized goals for English use. ESL students come from a variety of backgrounds. It has been extremely rewarding to help them grow and gain confidence when speaking English.

One of my duties has been traveling throughout the state of Wisconsin to collect photo and video content of road construction. This content has been used for internal and external communications. I have been involved with external communications through creating social posts, social media planning, and video project planning and scripting.My favorite part of this experience has been the opportunity to meet so many people through interviewing. I have interviewed employees for multiple video projects. The basis of these projects have to do with topics such as women in engineering, the WisDOT internship experience, work zone safety, and communities in construction.
