Revenue development: I traveled around the country and Canada to provide Executive-level presentations and contract negotiations, presenting to audiences large and small, and ultimately delivering a new product to market that resulted in several multimillion-dollar long term contracts that enhanced Bowne’s relationships with some of its largest financial clients. Product development: Built, from scratch, a great team of engineers and managed the growth at breakneck speed as we integrated within legacy Bowne systems and created a web-based document management solution for Banks and Insurance Companies to manage the creation of Shareholder Reports and Prospectus. Invented and brought to market an entirely new intuitive way for clients to manage the complex logic of legal disclosure for financial products; integrating product within MS Word and our web-based document repository, leveraging Boolean logic and XML to centralize legal disclosure across multiple references. Utilized typesetting checksum tools to, as products were updated, provide novel CDC and automated regression testing of ETL from client sources. During tenure, oversaw the complete SDLC of the product from integration to Bowne’s legacy VMS based typesetting by using Message Queueing, RESTful Web Services and ML transformations, to iterative incremental improvements using agile development techniques. Development primarily in Microsoft technologies, including use of SharePoint, SQL Server, C#, web-services, XML/XSL, MSMQ, MS Office.

2003 – 2006: Following Sarbanes-Oxley and Microsoft’s Office 2003 release, Invented a reporting solution for Mutual fund and Insurance customers to automatically create their annual financial reports for printing and filing with the SEC - using SQL Server, SharePoint, .Net C#, MSMQ, and XML/XSL, created novel techniques for ETL of banks financial data and written word and inserting into legacy typeset ML | Invented conversion for WordML to SEC EDGAR HTML automatically using XSL FO and C# and integrated the solution for XBRL delivery1997 – 2003: Started PLUM with the idea of bringing whole teams to consulting projects to take on larger software consulting tasks, provided multiple and various consulting projects, grew PLUM to a peak of 20 consultants, personally served as software architect and expert SQL Server tuner; among the many consulting projects during this time, personal successes include: helping .com startup handle over one million visitors a day in 2000 | built web-based document management and workflow solution that integrated ESRI geographical mapping for multiple government clients | a very large .com migration from Oracle to SQL Server | built fact-table generator and data analysis reporting software solution for large research firm | built and hosted a secure web-based research analyst relations platform used by HP, Compaq, Novell and IDC. Amassed multiple of A-list clients spanning industries from government, drug research, finance, commerce and technology. Remained a boutique service provider managing the explosion in the industry from Y2k to .com boom, following the .com bust we took the challenge to successfully transition to a product based company and finally negotiate its sale to Bowne & Co.
