Currently working on Information Technology (IT) and Communications Electronics (CE) projects for the U.S. Army.

Provide technical support for the U.S. Navy's 9-1-1 Regional Dispatch Center (RDC) and Enterprise Land Mobile Radio (ELMR) system for the Command Naval Region South-East (CNRSE). Support Motorola Astro P-25 trunked radio systems, MCC 7500 dispatch consoles and related equipment. Create and modify codeplugs and program various models of Motorola radios: XTS-5000, XTL-5000, SRX-2200, APX-4000, APX-6000 and APX-8000 radios. Reset user passwords in Active DirectoryCreate Radio Set Identifiers (RSIs) in the Provisioning Manager and Key Management Facility (KMF). Encrypt radios using Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) encryption with KVL-3000 and KVL-4000 Keyloaders, and troubleshoot encryption and Over-the-Air-Rekeying (OTAR) issues.

Maintain APCO Project 25 Land Mobile Radio (LMR) two-way radios. Develop, modify and maintain radio personalities and program radios. Update and maintain UAS and Device Manager databases. Monitor system operation during deployment for U.S. Army exercises involving in excess of 6,000 soldiers. Develop Excel spreadsheet to track radio equipment status and repairs. Deployed into the field for military exercises.

Maintain and install VHF P-25 LMR mobile, portable, repeaters and control station radio equipment, including light bars, sirens, and emergency lighting. Most significant projects: upgrade P-25 mobile radios, upgrade two P-25 conventional repeaters, and contract the installation of a 20kW generator for critical Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) radio infrastructure.

Supervise the daily operations of the Radio Shop, which is responsible for performing two-way radio repairs and installations for the Miami-Dade County Police and numerous other departments. Directly responsible for two revenue centers with a total annual budget approaching seven (7) million dollars. Supervised the daily activities of as many as thirty-nine (39) technical and administrative personnel. Additional responsibilities include capital equipment inventory and stock room operations for the division.

Performed maintenance on a forty-channel, 800 MHz EDACS trunked simulcast radio system. Monitored system operation, investigated customer complaints, isolated defective equipment and performed repairs at the system control point. Implemented requested configuration changes and assisted in resolving radio configuration issues. Authored documents and procedures to assist technicians in performing complex tasks.

Designed E.F. Johnson trunked communications systems in response to Requests For Proposals (RFP) from government municipalities and public safety agencies. Managed technical operations for E.F. Johnson trunked two-way radio sites for the State of Washington Department. Developed Year 2000 (Y2K) upgrade procedures, directed and supervised the implementation. Performed as the engineering team leader for the $1.3 million dollar Anderson, IN radio system project, and fulfilled a key role in the $4.7 million dollar Waterbury, CT project.

Performed system administrator and lead technician duties for the Miami-Dade project, monitored system operation, investigated customer complaints, isolated defective equipment and made repairs at the system control point. Operated autonomously within established guidelines to make decisions that could potentially affect service to more than 20,000 radio users.

Directed field operations and supervised field engineering personnel installing Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) equipment. Managed sub-contractors and the Return Material Authorization (RMA) and Quality Assurance (QA) programs. Traveled nation-wide to supervise the installation and maintenance of Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) systems that utilized the Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) system for Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL).

Maintained communications for four 9-1-1 Centers, as well as, numerous Sheriff, Police, Fire and EMS departments in the surrounding three-county area. Directed and controlled maintenance activities and resolved customer issues for a Five-Star Ericsson/GE service center: managed daily operations, prioritized work assignments and scheduled vehicle installations. Maintained all equipment associated with business and public safety wireless communications including digital and analog systems, and multi-site voter / microwave systems. Performed component level maintenance on base stations, repeaters, mobile and portable radios, GE and Orbacom dispatch consoles, mobile phone systems and paging systems.

Worked as a safety diver and technician for the motion picture The Abyss, directed by James Cameron. Assisted Western Space and Marine staff in maintaining experimental diving helmets used by the actors.

Operated and maintained electronic equipment such as Del Norte navigational equipment and a Klein side-scan sonar.
