Responsible for design, design support, stress and load analysis on various NASA projects, using both finite element models (FEMAP / NASTRAN and MARC Mentat) and Pro-E / Creo. Analysis included evaluating weld strength, calculating fastener preload torque values, and using energy methods for dynamic loading. Documented analysis and results in formal reports for internal and external customers, including NASA. Responsible for design support and structural analysis of the Predator family of unmanned aircraft. Developed finite element stress and dynamic models for both composite and metallic parts using an array of modeling software, including FEMAP with NASTRAN, ABAQUS CAE, Pro-Mechanica, and Hypermesh. Provided design support for mechanical and structure groups including design iterations based of stress analysis to meet FAR part 23, FAR part 25 and military design specifications for both primary and secondary structures. Worked with small group in a leadership role to developed larger finite element model. Performed aeroelastic and flutter analysis, using ZAERO and FEMTOOLS software. Coded customized tools using visual basic and Matlab. Presented results in presentation, memo and full report form for both internal and external customers, including the US government.

Worked with a small team of engineers to develop, design, and manufacture an aftermarket thrust reverser and hush kit for Gulfstream II and III business class jets. Designed individual components using Solid Works. Validated design for stress analysis with FEMAP and PATRAN analysis software to meet FAR25 requirements. Completely designed and constructed a fatigue test for thrust reverser internal bearings, which included electrical design of timer, hydraulic system for applying loads and machined parts for support.

I was responsible for continually improving the reliability and efficiency of office buildings and selected mechanical systems on the Intel Hillsboro campus. I set yearly goals of efficiency improvement and designed processes and procedures to insure the reduced use of utilities year over year.
