Executed a 60% employee redundancy plan and built a new, 30 person controls & robotics organization in a startup acquisition context across Montreal and Boston, MA. Managed engineering-customer relationships with major US food and beverage retailers.

(Rolls-Royce Canada was acquired by Siemens in December 2014)Managed a department of 25 control system engineers and a $4M annual budget to develop industrial gas turbine control software and hardware. Delivered engine control and safety system software to >30 operational sites globally. Responsibilities included: • Technical leadership including final solution approval prior to commercial release • Resource management and solution delivery to time, cost and quality • Stakeholder management ranging from oil & gas customers to control system suppliers • People / capability development including hiring, performance evaluations and coaching Deliverables include a new gas turbine software architecture and protection algorithm design

Relocated to the aero-derivative gas turbine division of Rolls-Royce as engineering team leader for in-service engine control system modifications. Notable achievements include:• Managed a ten person cross-functional team and a $2.5M budget to deliver control software and hardware improvements to in-service customers • Developed a new combustor fuel scheduling algorithm to improve emissions, completed test cell validation and installation at operational customer sites• Implemented, tested and delivered master software safety and reliability improvements

Completed a two year secondment to a recently acquired Civil Nuclear Instrumentation and Controls business in France. Notable achievements include: • Led the concept design, development and costing for a €50M nuclear control system bid to a Russian customer. Managed supplier inputs from a Czech / Slovak consortium.• Led a cross-functional team of five engineers to implement an IEC15288 / CMMI compliant development process, improving control system design, integration and test.
