As a home stager, I mainly used accessories only to create scenes to facilitate the feeling of "home" to the most likely buyer. I developed installation plans that considered client needs, budget and time line. I loved being able to use my creativity in a way that helped others! I was able to successfully assist banks, real estate agents, investors and home owners. I also assisted home owners with consultations where they were given a detailed list on what needed to be done to the home to get it in sell-able condition. This would include packing, painting, purging and often counseling to get them mentally prepared for the upcoming life change. My goal was to be sensitive and non-judgmental for the client so they would feel comfortable with the advice I was providing. One of my very favorite tasks was Redesign Services. I enjoyed this part of home staging because it was helping people live better in their own homes. Working alongside the client, we determined their design preferences and what they liked and disliked about their homes. I often told clients that they don't live in a magazine picture and they are allowed to decorate their own homes however it feels comfortable for them! Quite often, we worked with what they already had unless it was specifically requested to obtain new decor items.
