Economist with interests in monetary policy, financial markets and climate change. Career has involved all aspects of central bank policy at the decision making level. Chairs the Board of the LBMA. In 2017, Paul was a member of the EU High-level Experts Group on Sustainable Finance set up by the Commission to advise on policy in this space (he was nominated by CISL) and the UK Green Finance Task Force. Paul has written/published on: monetary policy; financial markets; climate change; central bank operations; regulatory policy; macro prudential policy; financial benchmarks; macroeconomic modelling; non-linear equation systems; exchange rates; money demand; labour market modeling. Currently actively working or speaking on a range of issues including central bank balance sheets and climate change.
