ICM Plus + Mentoring Program funded by NYC Dept. of Probation Ages 13 to 18

The Operations Manager works with a team of Associate Youth Development Specialist II staff and is responsible for the day to day oversight and operations of a 136-bed specialized secure detention facility in New York City, which involves Group Services, Security and coordinating all related support services. Managing 50+staff / 100+ residents •Manage operations of an assigned tour of the secure detention facility by planning, monitoring, and evaluating the ongoing programs relating to the supervision, conduct and order of the youth in care•Provide coverage for facility operations in the absence of the Executive Director of Operations•Conduct interviews and the selection of candidates for vacancies in secure detention•Manage staff scheduling, absenteeism and overtime reduction•Implement policies and evaluates current practices to ensure operational safety and security for youth and staff are maintained•Monitor and ensure the Associate Youth Development II coordinates all the activities and services to youth on a work tour; including education, recreation, medical, and social services to ensure that programs are implemented to meet the needs of the youth•Conduct individual and group conferences with staff concerning the interpretation and implementation of agency policies and procedures including techniques to be used in addressing behavioral and adjustment issues, develops staff skills in observing, recording and addressing these identified areas•Demonstrate competence executing and performing Safe Crisis Management (SCM) and ensures staff are compliant with SCM training requirements

Provided oversight and collaborative support to provider agencies with youth placed on Article 3 Juvenile Delinquent Docket. 5+ staff / 16 cases maximum Monitored youth in the community while on aftercare , up until expiration of JD docket.Implemented conditions of release for youth while in community.;Responsible for case management contact with provider agency , legal guardian, educational institution, and mental health on a monthly basis.;Attended case planning and treatment meetings pertaining to each case.Responsible for issuing revocation while collaborating with Investigative consultants and NYPD on youth community apprehension and return to care. Next Steps - Striving toward engaging peaceful solutionsSupervising (1) lead mentor , (2) mentors in providing cognitive behavioral therapeutic groups in the form of circle practice. 20 youth per yearResponsible for allocating budget in regards to trips , actives , food , and travel related to the program Develop and provide contractual reports monthly to DOPTable at various community events in efforts to recruit and maintain positive relationship with the designated catchment area Attend monthly provider meetings with the Dept. of Probation DOP and the Office of Neighborhood Safety ONSMaintain connections with community based organizations and resources in the community
