About Priyanka G.

A climate researcher and practitioner dedicated to bridging the gaps between science, policy, and practice to advance climate justice, build climate resilience, and achieve sustainable development. My work primarily focuses on the Global South, specifically on Loss and Damage (L&D), climate adaptation, climate finance effectiveness, water security, and transboundary water governance (Hindu Kush Himalaya region).Currently, a researcher for the Strengthening Loss and Damage Response Capacity in the Global South (STRENGTH) project, probably the first multi-country initiative aimed at enhancing L&D response capacity in the Global South, funded by IDRC. This project is designed to create unique L&D financing rationale, enabling local communities in countries like Nepal, Bangladesh, Vanuatu, and Senegal to access climate finance directly and effectively scale up local climate action once the Fund for Responding to Loss and Damage (FLD) becomes operational.
