Managed the improvement, implementation and continuous improvement of plant Food Safety and Quality Programs of one of Canada’s largest dairy’s, producing 330M litres of products yearly. Mandated to restore the relationship of the plant with key regulatory agencies, improve and simplify quality and food safety systems, improve SQF and customer audit results and compliance, and increase shelf life results on key products. Lead a team of 3 Supervisors, 2 Coordinators and 11 lab techs, managing an Operating budget of 1M.

Toronto

Reporting to the Director of Operations, managed the development, implementation and continuous improvement of all plant Food Safety and Quality Programs, including certification to the PAC Secure HACCP food safety standard and upgrading certification to the SQF 2000 Level 3 Food Safety & Quality Management System. 

Toronto

Reporting to the Plant Manager, managed the development, implementation and continuous improvement of all Quality Systems, including oversight of HACCP food safety systems, validation of HACCP Plans, liaising with government agencies, rabbinical/Kosher program maintenance and site inspections, site sanitation and pest control programs, food allergen controls, support for manufacturing/product development, and sanitary design of equipment for engineering projects. Lead site efforts in preparation and implementation of ISO 9001:2000 requirements for certification.

Cobourg

Reporting to the Quality Systems Manager; managed plant quality issues, sanitation, pest control, HACCP plan program coordination and validation, and all aspects of 5 Quality Systems’ labs including budgets and productivity. Held accountability for Approval of Sanitary Equipment and Facility Design for site projects.

Bramalea

Reporting to the Plant Manager; managed site quality and directed activities of 6 QA/QC staff members over 2 shifts in both the microbiology lab and the chemistry lab. Ensured plant checks of raw materials, processed products, and finished products met requirements. Managed product labeling, product formulations, and least cost formulation for the site.

Brampton

Reporting to the plant manager responsible for all Quality and Food Safety programs. Participant in CFIA and industry meetings on development of the FSEP program. Worked closely with the CFIA on daily compliance tasks and improvement of the quality and food safety programs.
