The Pokémon Company International, a subsidiary of The Pokémon Company in Japan, manages the property outside of Asia and is responsible for brand management, licensing, and marketing, the Pokémon Trading Card Game, the animated TV series, home entertainment, and the official Pokémon website. Pokémon was launched in Japan in 1996 and today is one of the most popular children's entertainment properties in the world. As Director of Merchandise Development, I managed a team of 15 responsible for quality and brand approvals for all licensed products for Pokémon brand outside of Asia. We organized product roll-outs across all key categories for the U.S. and Europe to coordinate with video game and animation launches. In addition, my team launched PokemonCenter.com, the official online store for Pokémon Center merchandise. We were responsible for the overall product development and direction of PokemonCenter.com, focusing on unique designs and high quality products for all ages. When I lead the Media Production team, we managed the localization of Pokémon animated television series and movies into 18+ languages as well as the digitizing of the Pokémon animated series and movie library (including over 800 episodes and 17 movies, into 8+ languages).
