As a Sun Professional Services consultant at the Government funded Human Genome project, I was charged with the responsibility of deploying and maintaining the Sequencing Facility's Data-center and Unix and Oracle infrastructure. Specifics include:* Deployed and administering Sun Enterprise 450, 3500, 6500, 280R, V880, the Sun Fire 4800 and 6800.* Database administrator for the production Oracle database storing the JGI sequence meta-data.* Deployment and administration of Domains, Dynamic Reconfiguration and other various High Availability components including the various software and hardware RAID Topologies (Veritas/Disksuite).* Responsible for the availability of 80 Terabytes of data hosted on various Network Appliance (F630, F760, and F840) and Auspex 2000 NAS Servers. In addition to administering NetApp's ONTAP O/S, periodic hardware servicing including DLT 7000 based Juke-boxes and NDMP based incremental archiving was also addressed on a weekly basis.
