I lead all Eurosport commercial creative work together with international sales, editorial, legal and rights acquisition teams in a client-facing capacity. A large part of the role required generating value around sports rights, platforms and talent as well as creating new branded content concepts to align with the key properties especially Winter/Summer Olympics, Grand Slam tennis, Tour de France, Bundesliga, Le Mans 24 Hours, Formula-E. To do this required assembling and mobilising international teams, both internal and external, to develop new products for brands. This included customisable programme verticals programme as long-term editorial propositions. For example editorial thematic strands around Tech, Health and Women, a social content platform to highlight the 'Future of Mobility' for partners of Formula E, re-packaging short-form editorial content for a wide range of advertiser partners and extension of America's Cup rights into update packages for Asian sponsors.I lead creative initiatives with key external partners in response to brand/agency briefs and worked proactively with together with them to develop narratives around topics like Women's Sport and the Olympics which included insights as well as campaign and content proposals to pitch to high value advertisers.Responsible for idea generation and execution across Eurosport platforms, my role functioned as an interface, or a bridge, between sales and Eurosport editorial creatives and to connect with Discovery Networks International (DNI) in order to build relationships with the commissioning teams and develop content, to review already green-lit titles and then to create presentations and participate in the pitch to clients. Whilst at CNN, I worked together with Content Sales to develop a revenue-generating programming proposition. The opportunity arose to create content for a Middle-East news-service client. I commissioned a 16X30 mins Travel Adventure series to be produced for a Qatar-based client. This was shot on location across South America and produced in Arabic language. The programmes featured Saudi Travel Writer, social-media sensation, academic, influencer and 'Wanderluster', Abdul Al Jumah, on his journey across South America from the Galapagos to Suriname. I tendered the brief to UK-based production companies and it was Big Earth Productions (Long Way Round/Down) that completed the commission which was successfully delivered on time and on budget.

Programmes ranged from existing assets to 'as-live' studio-based production in London and on-location in the USA. During this time devised seasonal campaigns and evolved on-air look and feel together with TCM Creative Director.Trained in-house Turner creative teams for live television studio direction.Created branding for re-launch of Time Warner joint venture with Chinese channel CCTV - a general entertainment channel in Hong Kong. The branding featured station celebrities, were shot on 16mm in studio and combined with 3D graphic elements for use as channel idents and promotion packaging elements.Trained industry professionals in principals of scriptwriting, idea generation and practical course for directing and filming at Promax Foundation.Shot, directed and edited a launch film for JCB - which included a shoot at their factoriy and assembly line in Towcester and a big studio shoot with their prototypes and production models in Pershore.Created campaigns for Buena Vista, Disney and Viacom – movie and gaming spots plus competitions spots on MTV. One project for the launch of 'Need for Speed PS game featured a location shoot involving a renowned stunt driver performing a barrel pipe-roll in a car at high speed, all rigged with mini-film cameras and all pre-Go-Pro!Supplied Hallmark Channel Europe with fortnightly behind-the-scenes programming to supplement and promote main feature films - these featured presenter Julia Carling and were filmed on location on Hallmark film sets or on-green screen in studio then combined with 3D animation. As well as writing, directing and editing, I shot the films. I travelled to South Africa and Hungary together with the Hallmark Creative Director to shoot live-action idents. The footage was combined with graphics to create region specific branding elements.

During this period I produced/directed, edited and wrote long copy for many long/short-form programmes featuring celebrity interviews and TCM library movies. I wrote, produced, directed and edited 2 hour long specials - 100 Years of the Western http://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/title/705862/TCM-presents-Wild-Frontiers-The-First-One-Hundred-Years-of-the-Western/and Driven by Crime: The A-Z of Crime http://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/title/633369/Driven-By-Crime-The-A-Z-of-Crime/Each film featured extensive shooting on location and in studios with large crews and green screen set-ups on 35mm film. Each film was edited by me. It was at this time that I travelled to Los Angeles to the home of actor Michael Madsen to make a documentary about his hero, Robert Mitchum. Whilst there I shot principal photography for a studio-based film about Hollywood great, John Huston, featuring his daughter Angelica Huston.As part of a rebrand of the channel I devised a new look together with the Creative Director which featured live, studio-filmed graphics. I used these filmic motifs in the subsequent set design for additional studio-based multi-camera film documentaries on subjects ranging from stuntmen, make-up artists and musicals featuring Stephen Fry. These shows were live directed in studio and edited. The productions also served as a training ground for TCM employees to do the same.

This material was then combined with graphic elements for on-air promotional and continuity.
