I am an innovative, adaptable and committed senior manager with excellent communication and leadership skills, a keen eye for detail and an ability to achieve ambitious operational targets through inspiration, collaboration and communication.I have worked in the research sector for over 30 years and have extensive experience of providing and managing support to and for life science researchers.I understand the need to perform research within the terms and strategies of our funders and stakeholders, and that clear evaluation, assessment and reporting is required in demonstration of it.To my work I bring my expertise in compiling, collating and presenting data, streamlining the exchange of information between partners (researchers and other stakeholders), simplifying their workload in the process. I lead on solutions, identifying opportunities then creating the tools and environment to facilitate their development.Within the research support arena, I have enjoyed a rich mix of tasks involving working as a research strategist, manager and communicator working with fundraising, knowledge exchange, finance, estates, and other operational teams. I’ve coordinated numerous reports, been a Freedom of Information practitioner, coordinated change management projects, organised VIP visits, conferences, public engagement activities and more.I work to the principle that in everything I do I am doing it for the greater good of my organisation and in order to achieve that efficiently and effectively, communication is key. Having worked with everyone from undergraduates to Institute Directors and Vice Chancellors, as well as industry leaders, funders, politicians and philanthropists, I understand the importance of discretion, thorough planning and evidence gathering, good and appropriate communication, timely stewarding and strong relationship management.
