GLEAMM is a real-world microgrid testbed facility, with 569kVA diesel generator, 150kWp of PV generation, 400kVA of wind generation, 80kW of battery storage systems, 1MW of dynamic resistive load banks, 190kVAr of dynamic inductive load bank, critical and non-critical loads.

Pre-project design of photovoltaic systems. It is at this stage that the best solutions for the client's project are studied. I worked with the pre-project of several types of solar systems, from small residential systems to large scale power plants. I also learned to work with the project of residential systems.

In my scientific initiation process, I participated in different research and development projects at the University, where I had the opportunity to develop important skills, such as reading texts and technical standards, producing reports, scientific articles and teamwork. In addition, I gained experience in important softwares for conducting studies in the energy distribution sector, such as OpenDSS, ATPDraw and Microsoft Excel. I also gained some experience with programming languages, including Matlab, Python and SQL. Through this experience, I was able to publish, together with other colleagues, 6 scientific articles in national and international congresses.

Texas Tech University's "Whitacre College of Engineering" runs an eight-week research program for undergraduate students. This program includes research, lectures, seminars, poster presentation and final report. During this period, I developed a virtual recloser model in Matlab Simulink for real-time simulation of protection systems in distribution networks with hardware in the loop technologies.

My role as president of the PES UFSM chapter was to coordinate our volunteers in organizing our activities, and ensure that everyone is learning new skills and evolving in line with their personal projects. To date, we have been responsible for carrying out numerous technical and academic virtual activities, bringing diversity and knowledge to our community at the Federal University of Santa Maria

As Vice-Chair of the PES UFSM chapter, I was responsible for helping to coordinate the group in the elaboration of our activities. My main function during this period was to look for contacts to carry out new events. Also during this period, I became an ambassador for the IEEE PES DAY 2020 in our chapter, and through that I played an important leadership role in organizing one of the biggest events promoted by our chapter so far: a 4-day OpenDSS mini-course that had the participation of more than a hundred people.

As a volunteer in the PES UFSM chapter, I learned the necessary procedures for organizing technical and academic events at our Federal University. As a result of these activities, I developed important skills such as teamwork and networking, which are extremely important for coordinating and maintaining events.
