In my scientific initiation process, I participated in different research and development projects at the University, where I had the opportunity to develop important skills, such as reading texts and technical standards, producing reports, scientific articles and teamwork. I also gained some experience with programming languages, including Matlab, Python and SQL. Through this experience, I was able to publish, together with other colleagues, 6 scientific articles in national and international congresses.

Texas Tech University's "Whitacre College of Engineering" runs an eight-week research program for undergraduate students. This program includes research, lectures, seminars, poster presentation and final report. During this period, I developed a virtual recloser model in Matlab Simulink for real-time simulation of protection systems in distribution networks with hardware in the loop technologies.

As Vice-Chair of the PES UFSM chapter, I was responsible for helping to coordinate the group in the elaboration of our activities. My main function during this period was to look for contacts to carry out new events. Also during this period, I became an ambassador for the IEEE PES DAY 2020 in our chapter, and through that I played an important leadership role in organizing one of the biggest events promoted by our chapter so far: a 4-day OpenDSS mini-course that had the participation of more than a hundred people.
