Place2Be is the leading children's mental health charity providing in-school support and expert professional development to improve the emotional wellbeing of children and young people, families, teachers and school staff. We provide children’s mental health services in 282 primary and secondary schools, and last year provided in-depth training in a further 31 schools, reaching a total school population of over 135,000 pupils. As Place2Be's Resourcing Officer, my role is to provide comprehensive advice and support to managers throughout the resourcing process to ensure a consistent approach to recruitment across the organisation. I ensure hiring managers are equipped with the knowledge, skills and resources needed to recruit the best talent for their teams. This includes providing guidance on advertising and recruitment timelines, collating applications and producing shortlisting guides, scheduling interviews and ensuring the panel receive the questions and supporting documents in advance and acting as an interview panel member as and when required. Other responsibilities I have include managing candidate communication, monitoring the general recruitment inbox and producing resources to measure recruitment KPIs.

Place2Be needs to recruit over one thousand Counsellors on Placement annually to provide 1:1 therapeutic support to children and young people in our partner schools.In this role I was responsible for the recruitment administration and clearance checks for our Counsellors on Placement in 10 different locations throughout the UK. This involved shortlisting applications, meeting and greeting candidates, participating in engagement events (such as performing presentations at colleges), verifying successful candidates' DBS/PVG applications, obtaining reference requests and working with managers to ensure their Counsellors on Placement are placed in schools in a timely manner.
