As a Senior Associate in PAPE Fund Managers' investment team, my responsibilities revolve around executing the fund’s mandate. During my time at Sandama, I played a crucial role in providing strategic legal advice to a diverse clientele. I advised Iterative Capital on a lending transaction agreement and guided Langpan through an instalment sale funding transaction. Additionally, I conducted comprehensive due diligence on AfarakGroup's business operations in South Africa and assisted Soraspace Capital in acquiring shares in SAFIC.Furthermore, I provided strategic guidance to Ukhamba Beerworx regarding shareholding arrangements and supported Q Mineral Holdings in an internal restructuring initiative. I also facilitated the disposal of shares for the Bolatja Hlogo Consortium in a residential property holdings company and advised a consortium on a significant funding transaction facilitated by the Public Investment Corporation. Additionally, I oversaw a management buy-out for Batsumi Investment Holdings.I also had the fortune of serving as a consultant at AECI Limited from February 2021 to August 2022, my responsibilities expanded to include overseeing commercial legal aspects and contract governance at AECI Water and AECI Property. I drafted various agreements, such as EPC contracts and material transfer agreements, and provided consulting and drafting services for a wide range of commercial contracts. Additionally, I reviewed and advised on trust deeds for various boards of trustees and offered expert guidance on commercial legal matters, particularly mergers and acquisitions. Moreover, I provided valuable insights into the interpretation of legislation such as the Companies Act, the Protection of Personal Information Act, and the Competition Act.

I specialised in corporate and commercial and business law, in particular mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and private equity transactions.Some of the transactions that I have been involved in include:• Overseeing vendor due diligence on the Hollard Group of companies.• Overseeing a due diligence on the IFS Group of companies. • Overseeing a due diligence on the Doka group of companies based in Africa.• Providing legal structuring advice to Inclusion South Africa. • Providing commercial legal advice to Sanlam Private Equity. • Providing commercial legal advice to a private held company in connection with its intended listing on the Australian Stock Exchange.

I oversaw the development of the in-house legal function of the eMedia Group and –• provided comprehensive commercial in house legal support and advice in respect of privately-negotiated transactions and investments undertaken by the entities within the eMedia, Seardel and Longkloof group of companies (“Group”); • monitored public policy and legislative developments relevant to the Group and engaging policy developers and enforcement/regulatory agencies (BCCSA and SAMRO);• provided business affairs and commercial advice generally for the Group; • oversaw divestitures and acquisitions within the Group;• chaired disciplinary hearings; • general corporate and commercial legal advice.Within 4 months of joining Emedia, I was appointed by the CEO and CFO of eMedia as acting General Manager of eBotswana. eBotswana is a the largest privately owned free to air television broadcaster in the Republic of Botswana, where she managed a team of 40. I was initially tasked with liquidating the business, which would have cost eMedia close to P500 000 (as well as a public relations problem), but discerned that the business, being an iconic brand had crippled by the numerous management shifts, a failed strategy to expand nationally, a lack of unit leadership, inadequate capital investment, as well as numerous human resource issues. I convinced the CEO and CFO of e.tv to not liquidate the business but sell the business and enter into a license deal with the investor. The deal generated R3 million Rand for eMedia as well as a license deal worth, at the time, R5 million.
