I joined the U.S. Navy in May 2013 to be an enlisted nuclear trained technician and was selected as a Electronics Technician (Nuclear). I completed Nuclear Field 'A' School and Power School in Charleston, South Carolina in July 2014. I proceeded to Prototype in Ballston Spa, New York where I qualified as a Reactor Operator in April 2015. I was assigned to USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) in August 2015 where I performed my duties for my ship and my country. While aboard USS Ronald Reagan I qualified Reactor Operation for the A4W Platform. In doing so I have performed my duties and responsibilities of maintaining critical systems for a nuclear propulsion plant, maintained accurate and detailed records of operations, performed both preventative and corrective maintenance on nuclear plant equipment, and worked with engineers from Lockheed Martin to perform invasive trouble shooting into plant equipment beyond normal repairs. In addition, as a sailor in the U.S. Navy I have been trained in Quality Assurance, placed in roles to lead others to solve difficult or strenuous tasks, trained in Damage Control efforts such as firefighting and emergency medical care, and trained/mentored junior sailors to qualify their respective duties and responsibilities. I have completed my active duty requirements and looking forward to work in a civilian job.
