Providing BAU to Macclesfield District General Hospital and GP surgeries in Cheshire.The core network is being upgraded from Cisco 6509 technology to a Nexus 9000 solution with Cisco 9300's being rolled out at the access layer. Providing wireless support as the WLC's are upgraded from 5808 to 5820, supporting Cisco ASA firewalls, Firepower and Palo Alto and supporting a Cisco VOIP network.

Providing support to the network team whilst the Trust faces some major reconfiguration. The LAN infrastructure is old and in need of a refresh and North Manchester Hospital is due to be merged with MFT . In the last 6 months I have acted as the line manager supporting 3 network engineers and reporting to the CIO. My technical skills have improved in the areas of Nexus 7k/5k/2k and Cisco Wireless.

Providing an upgrade from the old COIN network (point to point) to a new BT MPLS network, encompassing 140 sites in the surrounding area. This network upgrade is on schedule to be completed by March end 2017 and I will be available for new opportunities.

Providing Installation and Configuration services for Northwest Commissioning Support Unit (NHS).I am the technical lead for the roll out of 10 Northwest COIN (Community of interest networks) to the new GMCSU COIN on the latest N3 technology. This involves the migration of several Manchester networks including Tameside & Glossop, Trafford, Stockport, Bury, Wigan and Oldham. The total number of surgeries to be migrated is circa 500. The smallest of which would consist of a single GP with 10 to 20 nodes on a single switch, the largest being clinical sites like Ashton with 400 nodes and 9 or 10 3750's in a Stackwise configuration utilizing multiple Vlans and clinical systems.Provided BAU support as and when required between migrations. For example, solving a long standing problem whereby the network was being blamed for the poor performance of the INPS Vision Clinical System. The recommendation at the time was to install Gigabit switches in each of the surgeries. While this speeded things up slightly at increased expense of the new switches it only masked the real issue. I used Wireshark to look at a transfer of an executable file over the network from the Vision Server and found that it was using SMB/NetBIOS version 1.0 for the transfer. This resulted in very inefficient transfer of data as each request from the client was for only 300 bytes of data and wasn't utilising the full 1500 Ethernet frame payload. This was resolved by upgrading the service pack on the INPS Vision server.

Provided Cisco IOS upgrade for over 70 schools and 80 other council offices to IOS 15.0(2) SE 4 to comply with government PSN compliance. Provided other 2nd/3rd Line support solving spanning tree issues as it is a mainly layer 2 network. Cisco Switches 2960 and 2960S (Flex Stack), Cisco 3560-CG.

Providing network engineering services on behalf of Blackbox for Bank of America.The Work was European based and included fault resolution for physical faults such asswitch/router failures and IOS upgrades as and when required for switches and routers.The main kit being installed was 3845 and ASR1001 routers, 3560, 3750 and 6506/6504Switches and Cisco WAAS devices.
