my background is that of a builder having served a typical Apprenticeship between 1974 & 77 with Davey Construction in Wadebridge, at the time of finishing my "Apprenticeship I was given an opportunity to join the Merchant Navy which I embraced and spent nearly 5 years travelling the sea's seeing the world, getting drunk far too often and being paid to partake in things that I would not condone my own sons doing. Coming back to pick up the tools in 82 and then starting Darrock & Brown a building company in 86 where we simply got to question the use of cement to the point I started the Cornish Lime Co in the early 90's and built that aspect of the business up to the point where from 2002 we started disposing our interest in the building side to the guys who helped create it to continue its success and have now sold all our interest to concentrate solely on Cornish Lime.Cornish Lime has grown from something of a trade fascination into a genuine passion where I am fortunate enough to have built a business around.

I served my apprenticeship with some superb tradesmen and will always be grateful to the guidance that most of them provided, to a wild young kid who simply loved the craic and banter to be found on building sites back then.
