A visionary architectural leader, planner and designer, that is adept working with both public and private clients. My diverse experience spans over 85 projects and has been recognized with 42 design awards. My passion for architecture began at an early age, drawing on my prized red etch-a-sketch and later graduating to building “ingenious” 😉 treehouses and forts with best friends. This early unbridled imagination and effortless collaboration prepared me for an exciting career of looking at architecture differently. My design focus centers on user experience while creating “aha” moments and out of the box solutions – a philosophy that results in surprising, intuitive designs. These innovative projects begin by immersing myself into the special qualities of each client, project, site and community to ensure that the solution is fresh, unique and a perfect fit. Civic experience includes city halls, municipal centers, police, fire, public safety facilities, courts, libraries, recreation and aquatic centers, community and cultural centers. Commercial experience includes over 3 million square feet of corporate, commercial, and hospitality space. Notable projects are Exxon’s World Headquarters, MCI Headquarters, Albuquerque Plaza, The Richards Group Headquarters, The Epic in Deep Ellum, and The Pittman Hotel. This great blend of experience along with a natural curiosity and thirst for learning, informs me to challenge existing paradigms and conventions by bringing best practices to projects that are always innovative and forward thinking.I bring the same youthful imagination and excitement to each project with a hands-on approach from beginning to the end. I enjoy the entire design process that begins with immersive research and collaboration to define a client's vision, hands on planning and design, and finally construction, where that vision comes to life. Exciting!Pablo Picasso said, "The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away." With over 35 years as a visionary leader, I try to spend every day "giving away" my years of experience in architecture and interiors and making our communities better places to live, work, and play. When I teach and mentor young architects, I encourage them to visualize how users will experience each space from the time they arrive to how they interact with the building and engage people that are there. These skills of perception and the constant drive to think outside of the box, contribute to innovative design solutions that delight users and create memorable experiences.
