Health and safety is a major consideration with this many operatives on site and we employ a private health and safety company to ensure that everyone goes home safely and have no ill effects from working on site. I hold meetings and liaise with architects engineers, M&E specialists and the end user to get agreements on problems which arise whilst still in construction. I am responsible for reporting to my contracts manager and divisional head on all facets of the site and have input into the client meetings. Other duties include, along with the managing quantity surveyor and his assistants, assessing costs and finding ways to reduce them, compiling the risk log and reducing the residual risk.
