Phil completed an electrical trade qualification in 1983 and learnt his sales craft over the next 10 years in the Automotive and Hardware industries.In 1993 he brought his electrical and sales experience together when appointed Key Account Manager – Trade Professional with Philips Lighting in WA. The role focussed heavily on the mining industry supplying lighting solutions to Dampier Salt, Robe River Iron and BHP/Hamersley Iron etc. The second part of the role was promoting Philips Sports Lighting Solutions and he was successfully in winning projects such as the Subiaco Oval floodlighting redevelopment, Bunbury Trotting Track and Rushton Park in Mandurah to name a few.In January 2004 Phil was offered the role as Product Manager Luminaires and LED, based in Sydney and was responsible for introducing some of the first Philips LED solutions to the Australian market. Over the next 10 years Phil moved into other roles across the business such as Channel Manager – Trade Professional and eventually Business Unit Manager – Luminaires and LED.After 10 years in Sydney Phil returned home to Perth and took on the role of Regional Manager – Oil & Gas with Dialight ILS Australia promoting their LED Hazardous Area lighting solutions across Australia and New Zealand. Since 2012, Dialight has had 100% growth each year for the initial 3 years and a 45% growth over the next 3 years, which is a testimony to the quality of the product in the economic climate. In 2017 the role was expanded to cover Asia Pacific and Phil is currently Key Account Manager – Oil & Gas Asia Pacific.Phil has a Certificate IV in Illumination Engineering, is a member of the IESANZ and holds a Diploma in Management from MCI.
