Senior Organizing Representative for Sierra Club's Ready for 100% Clean Energy for All Campaign for state of Florida. The #ReadyFor100 campaign is challenging cities throughout the United States to step up and commit to 100% clean energy. We are mobilizing public support into action from our leaders, so that our cities, businesses, and institutions are powered by clean energy.Through 2016 I was lead staff for the Florida Healthy Air Campaign, a Green Transportation campaign, part of Sierra Club's national Beyond Oil campaign. This campaign is now part of Ready for 100% Clean Energy for All, as our tailpipes are our primary source of air pollution. My role has therefore expanded to a goal of ending the consumption of all fossil fuels in America's 3rd largest state. Our focus for clean transportation is to remove barriers to the adoption of zero emission vehicles to replace those fueled by oil: EVs and zero emission electric buses. Thanks to our campaign's education and advocacy efforts, PSTA became the 2nd transit provider in FL to acquire zero emission electric buses.In Nov. 2016 St. Petersburg became the first city in FL & the SE to commit to a goal of achieving 100% renewable energy with a plan that addresses both resilience to the coming impact of sea level rise as well as climate action to eliminate the city's own contribution of carbon emissions. This achievement includes developing residential and commercial pilot programs and raising public awareness with the help of our partner organizations. I work with communities around the state to help develop similar plans that set goals for additional cities in the state most threatened by sea level rise to act to both prevent and deal with its consequences. Since October 2012, my office has been located in St. Pete's 1st net zero energy office building @ 1990 Central Avenue, the corner of Central & 20th.
