I am a qualified accountant (FCA) with non-executive and executive experience at Board level. These roles have been both in Financial and Operational capacities, across a wide range of industry sectors. As Non-Executive Chairman of RoDMA, I led the change from a caretaker to risk-taking mentality, securing the support of a diverse Board, and hiring a new leadership team. On the charitable front, I was Treasurer of the V&A Friends, and instrumental in moving membership activity into the main V&A charity, winding up the Friends charity. At ExCeL London I was CFO for fourteen years, and the executive lead for finance, property development, HR, IT, and legal compliance with dual reporting to the CEO and overseas owners. During my tenure, ExCeL London was successfully sold to Middle Eastern investors; profitability increased from break-even to a world-leading level; the business self-developed two major property investments; and established a further major residential development JV.
