KBPT is one of fewer than 100 Tribally owned radio stations in the United States. The primary mission is to provide emergency and community information that may not be available through other means, and to be popular and listenable. This ensures that the community will be actively tuned in when urgent information needs to be conveyed. • Designed, built, and managed operations of KBPT-LPFM radio, a non-commercial community radio station for the Bishop Paiute Tribe. • Hired and managed on-air talent, and associated budgets. • Provided up-to-the-minute reports from Tribal Council and Incident Command directly to the Tribal community during the COVID-19 Pandemic. • Participated in community events, provided information like job listings, road closures.• Promoted Native culture with "Nuumu Weather" and "The Word of the Week."• Mentored Tribal youth in collaboration with the Tribe's Community Development Program as on-air talent and program producers.• Produced and recorded 48 episodes of the "Sunshine Happy Disco Hour" radio show.
