I have been at the forefront of the transitional change of Application and Infrastructure support elements between HCL and IBM during the past 18 months. I have overseen and managed technical and logistical aspects of data centre migrations and have been exposed to the latest Cloud based technologies whilst providing L2 / L3 knowledge transfer to both onshore and offshore teams. Having been responsible for and managing key deliverables across multiple technologies and environments whilst generating new revenue streams. I am comfortable engaging the business at Senior and Board level and providing support to existing business processes, I have driven through new business requirements through the management of project sponsored initiatives and provided end to end consultancy throughout the life cycle of key system and application upgrades. I was tasked with and delivered significant operating cost reductions during the renegotiating of 3rd party contracts whist leveraging maximum return across IT budgeting. Designing and implementing technical remits across mid tier RHEL / Unix / Windows and Mainframe Application and Database servers whilst managing dedicated and focused teams and user groups to implement robust and scalable solutions.

My role required me to be customer facing and to provide technical consultancy both within HCL and directly with 3rd parties alike. I built numerous business cases for proposed Application upgrades across multiple facets of the infrastructure. I was responsible for managing a team of both Onshore and Offshore Operations Analysts and SIT resources to provide technical support for Application based issues across multiple platforms in an Agile support and service delivery environment focusing on both business and mission critical Applications. My role required a creative and forward thinking approach based around efficiency and cost savings. I have been responsible for streamlining a number of batch processes and driven through initiatives to significantly reduce overheads associated with current contractual obligations and have dramatically reduced operating costs.

I transferred over to HCL as part of an outsourcing program undertaken by DSGi. Embarking on an in depth knowledge transfer process, I was responsible for steering a team of dedicated Operations Analysts through a very high impact learning curve. During this period I instigated some meaningful cost cutting measures including the Project Management of an AS400 decommission along with some high visibility business critical application upgrades. In addition, I have integrated into the technical support group covering OS390 Mainframe system architecture with my duties as Principle Analyst for the OA team running in parallel.
