During his 25 years in senior golf management, Phil founded Scenic Golf, specialising in golf course design and management, developing two golf clubs from conception: Eden Golf Club in Cumbria, the exclusive Wynyard Golf Club and the prestigious David Leadbetter Academy. As a director at Yorkshire's Aldwark Manor, he secured planning permission for a 60 bedroom hotel and spa extension where The British & International Greenkeeper's Association (BIGGA) established its national headquarters. As Managing Director of Wildwood Golf & Country Club, he was the driver behind gaining planning permission for an 84 bedroom hotel with 39 lodges, PGA Southern Region headquarters and a Golf Academy and range.
