Dr. Philip Herschman is a national behavioral healthcare expert with over 50 years of experience. He has been a featured speaker on clinical excellence and addiction treatment with keynote and panel conference presentations for the West Coast Symposium of Addiction Disorders, the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP), Moment of Change, and the CRC Health Group Professional Development Workshop. Dr. Herschman currently sits on the Board of Directors of BrightView, a Suboxone Clinic business; AiRCare Health, a company that partners with employers to make a measurable difference in the mental and emotional health of their workforce; Transformations Care Network, a growing network of outpatient mental health clinics that focus on delivering timely access to high quality psychiatry and therapy services; Sandstone Care, an age-specific mental health & substance abuse treatment company helping teens, young adults and their families; and Banyan Treatment Centers, a nationwide drug and alcohol detox and treatment provider.In his past role as Chief Clinical Officer for CRC Health Group, Dr. Herschman was responsible for the measurement and improvement of clinical services and the research and development of new treatment technologies. He also oversaw the CRC Clinical Advisory Board of distinguished healthcare industry experts. Prior to his role as CCO at CRC, Dr. Herschman was President of two operating Divisions, the Outpatient Treatment Program (MAT) Division and the Healthy Living Division (troubled youth, eating disorders, and weight management) over his 13 years with the company.Before joining CRC in 2002, Dr. Herschman served as Chief Executive Officer of Behavioral Health Concepts, a national mental health management company that he founded in 1993. He also spent eight years with Republic/OrNda Health Corporation where he developed and managed free-standing psychiatric and substance abuse treatment hospitals. Prior to Republic, he served as Regional Vice President of Operations for Horizon Health. Dr. Herschman began his career as a Clinical Psychologist in Southern California where he practiced for 10 years.He is a past Board member of Starpoint Health, an outpatient surgery center management company, the California Opioid Maintenance Providers (COMP) association, and Summit BHC, a national provider of behavioral health services. He holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of California, Irvine, and a B.A. from the University of California, San Diego.
