Perkins Engines are part of the global Caterpillar brand, and as such are responsible for the designing, developing and manufacturing, in large volume across multiple global locations, diesel engines for use in power sets and industrial vehicles worldwide. As an integral member of the Global Information Systems team I have Instigated a process to introduce design reviews at various milestones within my allocated project to ensure design and development were in line with the agreed project requirements. The GIS team being responsible for the development, maintenance and support of global IT systems that are used within thin the production environment to manage engine build, test and finish therefore ensuring product quality is maintained no matter what the facility location.In line with the business directive SOP 98 procedures have been used to capture project costs and regularly reporting these to stakeholders as part of an in depth project status report. Led the championing the use of newly procured JIRA software for the tracking of project issues and bugs, whilst also assisting in the further development of the software within the business. Managing a team of 9, including engineers and analysts, across different business areas and locations in the design, development and deployment of multiple project strands to enable a new MES system, based on the Oracle ADF environment.

Elstat Electronics have recently changed their focus from hardware development to providing Software as a Services and my role has seen me being responsible for driving forward the introduction and development of Programme Management processes that will ensure the on time delivery of these new market leading technologies. Developing a close working relationship with the field based sales teams has enabled quick resolutions to be found for customer facing issues across all facets of the programme. Production processes have been streamlined in consultation with the manufacturing teams within the China based facility, enabling increased yields on the production line. Management of teams of engineers, numbering 23, who posses different skill sets, varying from SQL to hardware development, and are in geographically dispersed locations, to ensure milestones are initially set and them met. Attendance at monthly senior management meetings has ensured that communications on project progress and risk management have always clear and concise. Documentation control processes have been introduced, ensuring revision control is now common practice throughout the company.

Ran multiple concurrent projects to successful conclusions for a variety of customers. These products were to be deployed in harsh and rugged environments so required designs to meet exacting standards both internally and for the external approvals work that was required. Mechanical, electronic and software teams were led during the development to strict timelines. Daily interaction with the customer to ensure project developments were communicated precisely and accurately. Led a successful development project involving 3 geographically dispersed project teams who were all developing separate parts of the final system.

Schrader Electronics are the world leader in the development of Tyre Pressure Monitoring systems. During my employment with Schrader I led the development and integration of highly regulated TPMS sensors and systems, through interfacing on a daily basis with resident engineers, business development managers and customers in Japan, South Korea and the USA. To achieve the goals laid out I managed engineering development, process manufacturing, project planning and order fulfilment from cradle to grave in alignment with TS16949 standards. A key part of my role saw me organise and led on site customer visits to review manufacturing and development processes, whilst also delivering all APQP gate reviews on schedule, together with key deliverable information / documentation.Key achievements included managing the successful launch of the first Schrader product into Hyundai and Kia factories in Korea, resulting in repeat business contracts, worth in the region of £30 million across the product life. a further highlight was leading a cross-functional engineering team through the discovery, rectification and successful implementation of engineering change to resolve an OEM production line issue. I was played and integral part in the implementation of innovative products to be introduced.

My role saw me leading day-to-day project management activity, including project planning and implementation in line with the project lifecycle, for a team of 10 Engineers responsible for the update, rectification and generation of safety critical aircraft software. within the role I was responsible for producing progress and technical reports - presenting information at weekly change and risk management meetings, including the monitoring of Key Performance Indicators, along with the review and authorisation of new project documentation in accordance with local procedures. Delivering processes and procedures, ensuring alignment with ISO 9001 quality standards and Health and Safety legislative requirements.Key achievements whilst in this role included the effective definition of project deliverables and resource requirements - managing their development and delivery while estimating and planning projects, with built in contingencies. Identification and mitigation against any arising project risks and issues, whilst ensuring that these were brought to the attention of Senior management as and when required. Facilitated greater process awareness and improvements in efficiency across all areas of accountability having re-wrote company training packages and training record management.Adopted a consultative approach with clients to analyse and delineate their requirements and suggest innovative solutions - providing feedback as needed.

Coordinated the management and scheduling of the delivery of rapidly-changing planned and emergency maintenance and repair of 11 multi-million pound aircraft to inflexible timelines, including the forecast of resource and manpower requirements at multiple locations:Led, managed, measured and reported engineering functions for 40 multi-disciplinary engineering specialists based worldwide with full accountability for internationally-based and recruited contracting staff;Produced and implemented shift rotas while ensuring accommodation was arranged and maintained for up to 70 personnel;Technical lead for repair schemes in avionic, electrical and mechanical aircraft systems, utilising relevant manuals and diagrams;Completed requirements analysis, engineering trials and evaluations to prove new communication installations to aircraft.Key achievements; Aircraft Engineering ManagerMonitored expenditure in line with a £10 million spare parts budget, ensuring appropriate stock levels in relation to projected failure rates and trends;Successfully managed a relocation project transferring 15 Engineers and 2 aircraft valued at £20 million to complete a 10-day overseas assignment;Spearheaded a project recovering damaged aircraft and carrying out extensive repairs within budget and ahead of time;Completed comprehensive financial facilities audits with assets valued over £200,000.
